Toilet Seat Icons, Here is an explanation of our Icon system, a quick and easy reference in selecting the desired features in your new toilet seat.
SOFT CLOSE HINGE
Both the seat and the lid are soft closing. They move softy down to a closed position. All soft close mechanisms are fully tested – so no more slamming seats
STANDARD CLOSE HINGE
Seat and lid are fitted with standard closure hinges
THIN SANDWICH STYLE
The styling of the seat is two thin layers, with the top lid sitting flat on the seat element. Extremely thin sleek look.

The styling of the seat is two layers, with the top lid sitting flat on the seat element.
WRAPOVER STYLE
The styling of the seat is layers, with the top lid element wrapped around the seat element giving a seamless look.
TOP FITTING
Top fitting hinges allow the seat to be fitted from the top where the underneath bolts are inaccessible. These can be used on all toilets.
BOTTOM FITTING
Bottom fitting hinges allow the seat to be fitted only where underneath bolts are accessible.
TOP OR BOTTOM FITTING
Many of our toilet seats are supplied with Top and Bottom fittings. This allows the seat to be fitted from underneath or from the top when the underneath bolts are inaccessible.
QUICK RELEASE
Many of our seats have a quick release feature. This means the hinges are fixed to the toilet pan and the seat is attached to the hinges. The seat can then be easily removed by using the release button or buttons for easy cleaning.
NON-SLIP FITTING
Supplied with a new fitting system, which helps stop the seat from slipping on the toilet pan. This method is used for bottom fix toilets only.
MADE FROM PLASTIC DUROPLASTIC
Duroplastic (also known as thermoset) is a top quality, scratch resistant and durable reinforced resin plastic.
MADE FROM PLASTIC POLYPROPYLENE
Polypropylene (also known as thermoplastic) is a lightweight and hardwearing plastic that is injection moulded.
MADE FROM MDF
Seats that are cut and shaped and finished with a paint lacquered finish or sealed in PVC or real wood veneers.
MADE FROM SOLID WOOD
Seats that are cut and shaped from solid wood throughout. Finished with a paint lacquered solid colour finish, or stained to a natural wood finish. Solid wood is a natural material, whist every effort is made, uniformity, grain pattern, tone or colour throughout the wood is not guaranteed. This is a character of a real wood finish and not a defect.
MADE FROM POLYESTER RESIN
Seats that are cut and shaped from a wood core, then Polyester Resin dipped to form a heavy duty, high gloss, hard wearing outer casing finish.
